On my way home yesterday I dropped by the Beadspin shop to buy beads and spacers for our DIY wedding cord. After 1 hour of making up my mind on which shade of pink should I pick up I decided to go to Tampines 1 Mall and check out some reading materials at Times bookstore. Beside the bookstore is a gift shop. Curious of what stuffs they have, I stepped inside the shop and lo! My eyes opened wide when I saw these cute piggy banks with crowns. They are available in pink and blue and each piggy bank also has a silver ribbon which I thought will be perfect for our fairy tale theme and pink/blue/silver motif! This too is a perfect gift for our flower girls and bearers- they will learn how to save at an early age. *wink*
The piggy bank also comes with a pen, and as they wish they can draw on it.

The Search for the Wedding Bands
... is over!!
Jay's ring is an 18K Gold ring while mine is also an 18K Gold with three 0.04CT diamonds.
I'll be collecting them after 5 days because I had them plated into two-tone colours (white gold and yellow gold). I won't unveil the price, but yes, we splurged a bit..^^

Kuya Elmer of Rejectkrew
We had the chance to bump with w@w's most popular lights and sound provider, Kuya Elmer, last February 5, 2011.
Originally we were already settled with La Castellana's basic sound system but we have a very good friend who offered financial help, which we of course gratefully grabbed (thanks siz!). Since we have no bridal car yet I asked her if she's okay with sponsoring it. She was more than glad when she said yes and without any exaggeration, she was sooo excited to look for a bridal car! That was as early as December 2010..Haha! Anyway few weeks after, she suggested we could just borrow a white car from friends and set the allotted budget to other wedding needs, which made sense, because I'll just be using the car for few minutes from hotel to the venue.
There's this certain 'Kuya Elmer of Rejectkrew' who is so famous in w@w. Almost all w@wies are chasing after his talent and creativity for lights and sound, which placed him as the Wedding Supplier of the Year for year 2010. And since raves about him are so viral I started to want him for our lights and sound too so I asked siz if we could allot the budget for the bridal car to lights and sound. She was okay with it. Yey!
I emailed kuya Elmer to inquire on his rates. It took about 2 weeks before he replied but he was all apologies. It's actually fine for me since I know from the start that rejectrew is in national demand (lol) especially after winning the award. I got impatient (and thrilled) after 2 exchanges of e-mails so I decided to call him to ask if we can meet when I fly back to Philippines on Feb 3-7. That moment kuya Elmer was unsure because he has events during the period but told me he'll check if he can fit me with his sched.
To cut it short, last Feb 5, I received a text message from him telling me that he's free to meet up at 2pm so we decided to cancel our appointment with the couturier in Divisoria. Hehe. We met him at Cinnabon in SM North. For the nth time he asked apologies for not answering our inquiries at an instant. Kuya Elmer was so polite (All his sentences end with PO or OPO) and he loves his craft so much. He was also so humble, no wonder why w@wies love him despite him being very difficult to look for due to his everyday events. I also learned that he has a job offer (DJ) here in Singapore but according to him he cannot leave the wedding industry in Philippines. Awww sweet!
After 2 hours of conversation we gave the reservation, signed the contract and parted ways. I was and still thankful he spared time for us. I completely (and exceedingly!) trust that Kuya Elmer will deliver his best and our wedding will be beautiful. =)

A perfect wedding song =)
This was actually sang by 2 couples during our valentine service in church yesterday. Some of the attendees, including me, got teary eyed. If you're still searching for a song for your wedding you may want to check this one from youtube. I'll definitely add this in our list. =)

Meeting with Kris
Our meeting with Kris was supposedly done last December 31, 2010 but due to Jay's conflicting schedules , I decided to SMS him the day before to cancel it. Apparently I learned that he was also sick. I told him that he could meet Jay alone at his convenient time because I had to fly back to Singapore but he preferred to meet us both when I get back, which is actually a better idea =P. So we agreed to meet up on the 4th of February at Robinson's galleria.
Kris texted us that we could meet at coffee bean but Jay and I thought it would be better to talk while having dinner since we were already hungry and he might have not eaten yet too so we asked him to proceed to pancake house instead, in which he agreed. But he just ordered brewed coffee, according to him he already has taken dinner with his wife.
Kris showed us some samples of his work, which I actually didn't need because I'm a stalker of his site. Hahaha! =) I honestly like his works, if not I would not have run after him in the auction. Hehe. He also has a lot of good feedback in w@w and girltalk. Like other w@wies who got Kris, I highly recommend him for these reasons:
a) He's professional and humble - based from a co-w@wie's supplier's review, Kris had just worked silently during her wedding but the guests were wowed by his work upon showing the SDE. I also find him more of a listener when we met (or maybe because I was so talkative?).
b) He's talented - You may want to check him on vimeo, his SDEs keep on getting better (as of this writing his site is not up to date kaya sa vimeo nyo nalang tignan..hehe)
c) He replies to queries fast, especially in SMS and facebook.
d) Compared to other talented videographers, his rates are more affordable.
e) He just recently got married and I'm sure Kris understands what soon-to-be-wed couples are going through..
and look, he was featured in the most recent issue of the wedding digest magazine! =)

Ang Pamanhikan
It was actually not a formal 'pamanhikan'. Since I only had 4-day vacation in Philippines and my home province is an 8-hour travel from Manila, we decided to go beyond the tradition. Instead, we had it done at Malolos Club Royale in Bulacan (Btw I consider Malolos, Bulacan my second home town because I lived there for more than 7 years and most of my friends are Bulakenyos).
From Quirino province, together with my mom, my dear Lolo Seldong (Papa's dad), Mommy Mercy, Daddy Joven, Auntie Baby, Kuya Ryan and the kids (Cj and Dothy) came. From Malolos were Tita Tere (she prepared a delish barbecue and inihaw na bangus and tilapia!), Ae-ae and MV while Uncle Leo, Auntie Josie and their 2 kids (Edsel and Godwin) have traveled all the way from Baguio City only to attend the pamanhikan - their support was just so overwhelming, I was so touched.. ^^
From Jay's side were his parents, ate Raechelle, tita Bless and her husband, tita Naty and kuya Buboy. I think it was just 15 - 30 minutes conversation since almost everything was already settled (caterer, venue, p/v, etc).
Jay did all the talking while all I did was to laugh..nyahahaha! Tita Naty was also laughing the whole time because Jay was obviously nervous and his voice was shaking until the end! But I am so proud of him, he managed to carry it out without me helping him..hahaha! Kudos Jay! **kiss**
But seriously I really want to thank God for being so good to us. We never had any issues and our families had easily got along.
The kids especially enjoyed the pool while we took pleasure from the foods!
Thank you friends for all the prayers!

I designed my 2nd WYB Card in www.polyvore.com and had it printed in a photopaper.

Talk about multi-tasking :)
I'm doing our Will You Be invites while working. Have a good rest friends! I think I'll have to stay up working for few hours more due to some many multiple issues. :(
On the brighter side ,I'll be flying home tomorrow evening! Yey! And the thought of it keeps me going! I'm sooo excited to see my family and to be with Jay again.. happpeeee! =)
Good night everyone! Let's all pray before we go to bed, our Father would definitely love to hear a word from us. ^^
