Stressed with the Guests

We started to fill in our guest list August last year and until now we're still deciding on whom to invite.. waaaaah!
We won't be stretching our wedding budget anymore so we are very strict with 150 heads.

I now realized that the most stressful part of the wedding preparation is the guest list. Budgeting is only next to it. For the uninvited ones I hope that their 'tampo' will steam off in time.

My Lord, give us enough wisdom as we finalize this magical list..

Lesson Learned

I have this habit of changing our blogskin every month. Just now I changed our blogskin, I played with the HTML code and our visitor counter was reset to zero from 3,245.. =( The blog rolls have also been deleted. I wish I have just either worked on our invitation or slept early. I want to cry! :((

But our new blogskin looked better, ayt? (Say YES, please!)

It's 1:28 AM. I'm going to sleep friends, I'm pretty sure when I wake up I'll feel well again. Let's start our week with a positive vibe! =)

Missing Papa :(

Last night Sir Edwin of Velvet Mood Musicale sent a list of wedding songs for us to choose from. There are roughly 150 songs in the spreadsheet that I am not familiar with so I was pushed to search for them in youtube. I was in the process of patiently listening to each of them when I stumbled on these songs triggering me to miss my father. I know I have to be happy for him because he's in best hands now. I know, I know. But I just miss him. So much.. And it hurts even more to think that his presence on my wedding day is incontestably an unrealistic dream.. :-(

My Way ;)

        (skype conversation)

         Me: Beb I love you..
         Jay: Alam ko
         Me: Pano mo naman nalaman?
Jay: I have my own way.

         Toink!

Our DIY DeCoupage Initials

How was your weekend friends? Mine was rewarding! I've attended a women's encounter last Sunday and I cried a river! I was so overwhelmed with God's presence and my spirit has been revitalized. I thank the Lord He brought me there. With all the stress I've been dealing with recently, my soul really needed to be refreshed and it's only Jesus who could satisfy it.

And here's something I did last Saturday. This is one of our nice-to-haves and I plan to complete J-A-Y K-A-T-E, so please cheer me up! :-)

Thank you Lord for the wisdom. I wouldn't have done it without your guidance.

"And he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold and silver and bronze..."
~Exodus 35:31-32
In this project, I used Scrapbooking Paper, Ribbons, Stickers, Glue, Scissors, 2-way scotch tape and other scrapbooking materials. You can play with it. Have fun and be creative! :)
I bought the wooden letter K already designed but I wasn't able to find for J of same size so I decided to have it redesigned.

Our Royal Piggy Banks Get Blue Ribbons

I noticed that silver ribbon alone is a bit boring so I thought of adding life on  gifts for our little dears. I hope they will love these :)

Special thanks to tita Grace and Tita Lyn for helping me out! Love you both!

Bought @ 2 SGD from Daiso
Aren't they cuter now? :)

How I found my Hair and Make Up Artist

 Friends, meet Tin Galolo!

I actually have just stolen her profile picture from her site. Hehe. It was Tintin (Catherine Cruz) who introduced her to me. If I remember it right, they were classmates in high school. I think she was just new in business but her works are definitely promising plus her rates are more affordable among those hair and make up artists I've heard.

I've been exchanging messages with her in facebook, and I can feel that she's bubbly and genuinely nice. We're of the same age so I'm sure we will easily jive together. But ei, she doesn't look at her 20's, she looks 15! And she's pretty! I can't wait to meet her personally on the 16th of May for my trial make up! =)

To know more about her, check out her site. CLICK!

Our Bible

Last night I went to Mount Zion Christian Bookstore in Tampines to check for pink Bible.

But originally tita Grace and I agreed to check the christian bookstore near her office where she bought her deep pink Bible. But due to work-related stuffs I wasn't able to get out of the office early so I decided to just take lunch with my colleague and check the store the following day. But I remembered when tita told me there is also a christian bookstore in Tampines so on my way home last night I decided to drop by and check.

The bookstore is located at level 4 in Century Square Mall. Upon entering I eagerly located the Bible section and I was surprised to see a pink princess Bible! I gulped when I saw the price tag at the back of the book. It costs 46.5 SGD (around 1300 - 1500 Php), which is far ahead from our budget. I also saw a cute pink Bible with a metal cover and a phrase written 'He loves me'. It is a bit more expensive from the Princess Bible (48 SGD). Between the two I was more awestruck with the former, because it is more ideal with our theme. But I was stopped by the price from purchasing it. :-(

To make up my mind, I decided to take my dinner at the food court first and told myself if there's still an urge to have it after having my stomach stuffed with food, i'll get it na. To cut it short, after 2 hours of fixing up my mind I went back to the bookstore and hastily paid the item. No regrets so far. :-)

And by the way they gave me 10% off the original price. God is good!

Prepare for the Marriage, not just the Wedding

An article from http://www.ehow.com/how_2159727_focus-marriage-not-just-wedding.html

I just think the most important step, PUTTING GOD AT THE CENTER OF THE RELATIONSHIP, is missing here. But anyway this is still a good read.. Happy reading!

Pick up a bridal magazine and you'll find dozens of articles about gowns, cakes, flowers and all kinds of material things you can buy for your wedding. What you rarely see are articles that offer you advice about spending the rest of your life with someone. There's so much hype and expectations surrounding weddings that it's easy to set aside serious thoughts about preparing yourself for a healthy marriage.

Instructions

  • Make your engagement period as short as possible. A long engagement will give you too much time to obsess about whether the flower arrangements will be perfect and other trivial details.

  • Spend lots of time together before the wedding. Try not to talk too much about your wedding plans
    .
  • Talk often with your partner about your future together. Discuss your living habits, dreams, future plans, and quirks. As much as you can, negotiate problems now before they occur. For example, if one partner wants two children and the other wants four, agree that three will be a good compromise. If one of you likes loud colors and the other likes bland colors like black and gray, figure out some colors that you both like (like dark green) so that decorating your home won't be a nightmare later.

  • Talk seriously about finances. Make all necessary financial arrangements, such as a joint bank account and a will. If your finances are complicated, meet with a financial advisor. Don't forget that a marriage is a financial merge as well as a familial one.

  •  Talk with couples you admire who have been married happily for years. Find out what works for them, and discuss this with your partner. If you feel comfortable, ask them for advice about conflicts.

  • Research the topic of healthy marriages. visit the library and browse the Internet for reliable sources. Discuss your findings with your partner.

  • Consider premarital counseling. Some religious institutions offer premarital workshops for couples. Secular counseling is available as well.

    Our Couple Bears

Tintin, a good friend of mine since college, gave these adorable couple bears as her gift to us but I didn't expect she'll have them done too soon!

A month ago we were chatting about how the preps were treating me. I told her my plan to do a lot of DIY projects then she delightfully told me she wanted to help out and she knows somebody who does couple bears and as her gift, she'll be paying them for us. Yeyeyey!

I was excited when she told me yesterday that the bears are ready for delivery. It thrilled me even more when she sent their photo this morning. I wanna see and hug them real soon!

Thank you so much sis! =)

    Friends, take a look!

    Our DIY Wedding Cord

Inspired by my artistic co-w@wies who patiently DIY-ed their wedding cords, I ambitiously  crafted ours too. And after two consecutive nights of complaining to Jay how intricate it was, i still managed to finish it.

Thank you Jay for reciting me poems errr..este singing me songs while completing this project, your voice has relaxed and calmed me..well, it has always been. I so love you!

To align with our motif, I used hot pink and navy blue crystal pearl beads and some silver spacers

These bigger pearls served as dividers for the smaller beads

Each piece contains 7 beads, which is our monthsary date (after getting back together from our breakup..hehe). Here's another trivia: In the Bible, the number '7' represents the 'completion or completeness'.

    The finished product

The wedding cord carries our names. Cool isn't it?
